DIY: Ice Globes | Outdoor Home Decor

This is the perfect winter activity for your kids and it takes no time at all! All you need is balloons, food coloring and water. Oh, and some kids perhaps, unless you want to do it for yourself, for fun. That’s cool too!

What you need:

  • Balloons
  • Food Coloring
  • Water

Directions:

1. Put food coloring of choice into balloon, anywhere from 10-20 drops works. We found that the more drops the cooler looking the result!

2. Fill balloon with water. This works better if you have two people. One who holds the balloon from the bottom and the other attaches the balloon to the tap as it fills and then ties it when its done.

3. Put balloons outside (preferably not on snow) for 24-48 hours in below zero degrees Celsius weather.

4. Cut off balloon and marvel at how cool these snow globes look! They make for interesting winter decorations that’s for sure!

5. Decorate!
